We want every client to know what happens before ordering, what happens if a permit office sends comments, and what happens if plans change. This Refund Policy explains when a refund applies. It works together with our Corrections and Money-Back Guarantee and our Terms and Conditions.
1. Our first remedy is correction
If a reviewing authority requests a change that relates to drafting work included in the agreed scope, send us the comments. We review them against the drawings and project information and make the appropriate correction within that scope, without an additional drafting fee. A refund is not intended to replace a correction when a drawing can be corrected and resubmitted.
2. When a refund may apply
- Before work starts: if you cancel before drafting begins, you receive a full refund of amounts paid, less any non-refundable third-party costs already incurred with your approval.
- If we cannot complete the work: if we determine that we cannot complete the agreed service because of a limitation on our side, or because essential jurisdiction information cannot reasonably be obtained, we refund the amount paid for the work not delivered.
- Partial completion: if you cancel after work has started, we may refund the portion of the fee for work not yet performed.
3. When a refund normally does not apply
- Completed and delivered work that matches the agreed scope and the information you supplied.
- Permit denials, additional review comments or permitting delays caused by zoning, variances, deed restrictions, HOA decisions, utility requirements, property conditions or other matters outside the agreed drafting scope.
- Changes in project size, use, layout, location or design after work has started.
- Errors caused by inaccurate or incomplete information supplied to us.
- Rush or expedited fees after expedited work has begun.
- Fees for professional review, calculations, signature or seal once that review has begun.
- Third-party costs such as surveys, reports or filing fees.
4. Professional review and sealed work
When a licensed professional is engaged, that professional performs an independent review. Fees attributable to professional review, calculations, signature or seal are non-refundable once that work begins, because that professional service has been performed.
5. How to request a refund
- Email drafting@makeasiteplan.com before ordering additional work or a new project.
- Include your name, the property address, your invoice or order reference and the reason for the request.
- Attach any permit comments or correspondence that relate to the request.
We normally acknowledge refund requests within two business days and explain the outcome in writing. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. The time for funds to appear depends on your bank or card issuer.
6. Chargebacks
Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank. Most questions can be resolved quickly by reviewing the order together.
